In the cone crusher, the crushing chamber is formed by the cavity between the two linings: that is, the cavity between the mantle and the concave. It can be seen that the lining is the part that directly contacts the material and is also the main wear-resistant part in the cone crusher. Many users have reported that the lining of the cone crusher wears too quickly, which greatly increases the production cost. Today, ONA will take a look at the reasons why the lining of the cone crusher wears too quickly and how to reduce the wear of the lining during operation.
01
The lining is subjected to large forces
When the cone crusher is working, three-dimensional abrasive wear is formed between the mantle, the concave and the crushed ore, and the surface of the lining is in a complex stress state. The squeezed ore exerts huge pressure on the local surface of the lining, and the high-speed operation of the moving cone produces huge shear stress. The two act at the same time, and the chiseling, cutting and impact extrusion pits on the lining are the main wear modes.
02
Poor working conditions
Due to the working nature of the cone crusher, the lining will definitely be worn. If the cone crusher is in bad working conditions, the wear of the lining will be aggravated. For example, if the cone crusher is used in mineral processing, the wear degree of the cone crusher lining is related to the force and size of the ore, and also to the Pugh hardness of the ore compressive strength, depending on the type of ore body rock.
03
Ore hardness and particle size
The wear degree of the lining is different according to the hardness of the material crushed by the cone crusher. The higher the hardness of the material, the greater the impact load the lining bears in production; when the hardness of the ore is the same, the larger the particle size of the ore entering the crushing chamber, the more serious the wear of the lining.
ONA's engineers serve all types of mines. For example, for high-grade metal ores, the lining may have to be replaced after one week; if it is crushing ordinary limestone, the lining can be used for half a year to a year (working ten hours a day and twenty-five days a month). It can be seen that the hardness of the material has a great influence on the service life of the lining.
04
Improper feeding method
If the feeding device of the cone crusher is improperly installed, or too much material is put into the crushing chamber, it will cause uneven feeding, material blockage in the crushing chamber and other faults, causing excessive force on one side of the liner, increasing the cutting wear of the ore on the liner, and causing serious damage to the liner.
Three precautions to reduce liner wear
01
Precautions during use
During the operation of the cone crusher, it should be noted that the material put into the equipment must meet the crushing requirements. It is strictly forbidden to enter the crushing chamber with excessive hardness, high moisture or other non-crushing materials, otherwise it will cause the liner to fall off, equipment shutdown and other faults. At the same time, the cone crusher must be fed evenly, the ore must be fed in the middle of the distribution plate, and the material cannot directly interact with the liner to prevent uneven wear of the liner.
02
Precautions for replacing the liner
When replacing the liner of the cone crusher, the wear of the bowl, adjustment ring, locking bolt, counterweight and counterweight liner must be checked. If the wear is serious, it should be replaced with a new one, and then the liner should be installed. This can reduce the time for secondary replacement and disassembly, saving time and effort. After the liner is installed, it is necessary to check whether the center of the liner is aligned, otherwise the liner will collide during operation, resulting in serious wear of the liner.
03
Precautions when selecting materials
Currently, the liner of the cone crusher on the market is generally made of high manganese steel. With the continuous development of science and technology, the performance of wear-resistant materials is also constantly improving. In general, it is necessary to choose a material that can quickly harden the surface under the action of impact load, forming a hard and wear-resistant surface, while still maintaining the original toughness of the inner metal. In this way, the service life of the liner can be increased.
Due to the harsh working environment and large dust of the cone crusher, it must be maintained and lubricated in time during use to prevent difficult or unbreakable materials from entering the crushing chamber, so as to save the use of the liner and avoid unnecessary losses.
